Welcome to our website. Information will be added to provide the residents of Aylesbury Vale with details of what is going on in their parish, district and around the Vale. I hope this site will soon become a firm favourite to visit.
All Parish, Town Councils and Parish Meetings are automatically Members of AVALC. The Executive Committee, all Councillors elected at our AGM, meet four times a year in Winslow to discuss items drawn to our attention by Parishes – the Minutes of these meetings are circulated to you. We also meet quarterly with Officers and Cabinet Members of AVDC which has enabled us to discuss parish precepts, changes in recent planning procedures and devolved services. We continue to be involved with the Grants Panel for New Homes Bonus for which we lobbied on behalf of Parishes for a sum to be set aside against which Parish and Town Councils taking new development could bid in order to improve amenities in their communities.
AVALC also acts as an important catalyst for local councils in Aylesbury Vale feeding in your views on the many issues you may face and stressing the need for primary authorities to continuously engage with Parishes. We also participate in meetings of the County Association of Local Councils, [BMKALC].
To carry out its work AVALC depends totally on the voluntary contributions received from parishes such as your own and we are extremely grateful for the support we have received from in the past. This is used to pay for the use of meeting accommodation, our website and administration. Members of the Executive work in a voluntary capacity with no secretarial assistance and fund their own costs.
